Congratulations to Robyn Dry who, on Friday 5th August, became Honorary Vice President of Tennis New Zealand(TNZ) for the 2011/12 year. Robyn was nominated for this honour by KTSC and then chosen as the best nominee by Tennis Central. Her impressive list of duties, achievements and responsibilities carried out voluntarily at both the club and regional level during the last 33 years make Robyn a worthy recipient of this honour.

As Honorary Vice President, Robyn, along with the TNZ President, will be a figurehead of TNZ and represent TNZ at local, national and international tennis events where appropriate during the year to August 2012. Another KTSC club member, Doug Law, was Honorary Vice President of TNZ during the 2004/5 year.

Shane Dunphy has very kindly offered to be the Junior Tennis Convenor for KTSC. His contact details are email: swhdunphy@xtra.co.nz , phone: 479 1929. Please give Shane plenty of support in his new role.

Many thanks are also due to Susan Marris, who has done a fantatsic job over the last three years. Susan says she has enjoyed her last three seasons as Junior Tennis Convenor and would like to thank all those involved with junior tennis; the players, parents, coaches and members of the Khandallah Tennis & Squash Club, for their participation and support. KTSC now has one of the largest junior tennis memberships in the Wellington region and the highest number of interclub teams in the Wellington Competition. This, together with the strength and depth of our junior players, means the junior tennis section of the club is in a very healthy state and is well positioned to provide a playing environment conducive to retaining and attracting a wide spectrum of players from purely social to competitive elite.

Susn will keep in touch with many of you through Trans Tasman Tennis and wishes you all the best on the court.
