This is a great chance to play a few games of social squash, enjoy the facilities and meet some other members. The squash kicks off at 7pm – so just come up to the lounge and register on the whiteboard.

This is also a great chance to bring  friend/neighbour/colleague along. Maybe someone you know has always wanted to give squash a go – so bring them along and show them what a great club we have.

Junior squash club nights continue every Friday afternoon from 4.30 run by Graeme Gibbs.

If anyone has a roller with a long extension that we could use from the scaffolding and does not mind lending it for the weekend that would be most appreciated.

If you can spare a hour or two to help clean or paint that would be most appreciated.

Greece took out the final – beating Mexico 10-8 in the end. And they probably were the best dressed team of the night too – so awesome effort from everyone involved with Greece!

Congratulations to Bruce Grant who was named Player of the Series and took home a brand new squash racquet, courtesy of Thump Sports – who very generously supported us with some great prizes on the last night.

Lastly thanks to the captains, who did a great job organising their teams.

Senior Tennis Club Championships 2012

The Senior Tennis Club champs will be run over the first weekend of May.

The Singles Club Champs will be run as two draws. Senior Regional players will automatically be entered in the top (A) singles draw. Slazenger players will be able to elect which grade they would like to play in (A or B). 

If there are insufficient entries in the top draw, the draws will be combined. 

Senior members, please support these Club Champs. Phone and book your doubles/mixed partner now, before someone else does!

Mixed Doubles: Friday 4th May (from 6pm).

Mens and Women’s Singles: Saturday 5^th May (first round matches on Sunday 29th April or in the evenings of the preceding week if needed)

Mens and Women’s Doubles: Sunday 6th May.

Cost: $10 per event ($5 each for doubles) – this is to cover the cost of balls.

Who is eligible to play: Every senior member of the tennis club and all junior members who play or have reserved for senior interclub or play in the junior Regional 1 or Regional Friday competitions.

Function: there will be a prizegiving and social function at the completion of the doubles on Sunday 6th May.

Entry: please email jackie_liddell@yahoo.co.nz by Sunday 22nd April if you would like to enter. Please only enter the doubles and mixed if you have organised a partner and remember to advise the name of your partner when entering. Tournament fees will be collected during the tournament. Please note that all matches will be scheduled prior to the event and you will receive an email advising you of the times of your matches. If you are entering, you need to be available to play on the days set out above.
