Her nomination was warmly received by those attending the AGM, with David Binning (Immediate  Past President) commending Dianna on her valuable contribution,  and on behalf of Midweek, Rob Dry, also passed on  best wishes and full support.

Dianna, shown front left in this picture, has been a member of the Management Committee, serving as Vice President for 7 years, and has been, (and is still) a Midweek Committee member – since 1980. KTSC Management  Committee and members would like to congratulate Dianna on this well deserved recognition.

Due to the inclement weather Open Day will not be held.  No joining fee will be charged for new members until Saturday September 4th. 

On Saturday 28th August from 1-4pm, Khandallah Tennis and Squash Club are opening their doors to the members of the public who wish view the facilities and even try their hands at hitting a tennis ball.  Families and individuals are invited to attend the activities on the day – adult fun tournament and fun kids games.

Khandallah has 7 recently resurfaced tennis courts, 4 excellent squash courts, professionally led on-site coaches and a comprehensive sports shop.  With over 560 members of all ages and abilities we are a large club with great interclub participation in all Tennis Central competitions Premier, Senior and Junior. 

On Tuesday 14th Spetmber at 9.30am, Mid-week are holding their Open Day.  Mid-week tennis at Khandallah is a particularly thriving group of players who can and do play three times a week 11 months of the year!  With 7 courts fully utilised all morning from 9.30am to 12noon it is certainly excellent value for money at $280 per annum (add up your gym fees!).

The joining fee is waived on the open days so make your way to 55 Delhi  Crescent, Khandallah this Saturday 28th or Tuesday 14th.  If you can’t make those time call the office 939 6210 to make an appointment with our Office Manager, Robyn Lush.

Junior Tennis Ladder Rules August 2010

Innerclub is a social teams squash event open to all club members, and potential club members, and will run on Thursday nights during from September 30 to November 19, with the final night being a Friday.

This is a great way to end the year with some regular social squash and meet a few other club members at the same time. Ideal also if you mostly play tennis but want to give squash a go in a friendly environment against players of a similar ability.

If you know of some potential members who want to give squash a go then they’re also welcome to take part.

Teams are made up of players of all abilities – you enter as an individual and we’ll divide everyone into evenly spread teams.

Entry Fee will be $10, to be paid on the first night.
Non-members entry fee is $40. But $30 of that goes towards their subs if they decide to join up.

KTSC Junior Tennis Calendar 2010

As you will see, we have another busy season ahead.

Due to changes in our working lives we need more volunteers assisting with the organisational side of running junior tennis activities this season. Also, as this is our final season at the helm, it is an opportune time for others to step in and learn the ropes with a view to taking the lead in subsequent seasons. This will ensure that our junior club continues to thrive and is maintained for current and future players.

Volunteers are required for the following:

•             Weekly co-ordination of Friday club nights (liaising with rostered team managers, organising supplies, handling cash);

•             Refilling barbecue gas bottle;

•             Assisting with club nights on an ad-hoc basis (While interclub team parents will be rostered on at some point during the season, it is helpful to have a few parents who can also help out if the need arises. Parents of non-interclub players who attend club night are encouraged to do this.);

•             Organising medals and the collection, engraving and polishing of cups for prizegiving;

•             Co-ordinating club apparel (interclub team uniform) orders (if demand still exists this season);

•             General assistance with special events (e.g. purchasing supplies, taking photographs, running the bar).

Please note the following regarding interclub this season: -

• A Friday evening competition, for Regional level boys who cannot play in the Saturday competition due to other sporting commitments, is being trialled. This will be held on Fridays 4.30-8.30pm at the Renouf Tennis Centre.
• Grading matches will be organised to assist with determining Regional, A Grade and B Grade teams. Players wishing to be considered for these grades should indicate this on the registration form. These trials will be held on the weekend 4/5 September from 9am (postponement dates 11/12 September). If further matches are needed, then players will be advised and given a date by which they must be completed.
• Results from last season’s interclub, grading matches, club championships, other tournaments and ladder challenges will be used to determine team composition. Coaches’ input may also be sought.
• Any player not wanting to play B Grade or above, but who wishes to establish their relativity with other players for the purpose of interclub team placement, should organise a ladder challenge. The results of these matches must be notified to Susan by Sunday 12 September in order for them to be taken into account.
• Payment does not need to accompany the form as KTSC will issue invoices once teams have been determined. – Team managers will be notified of team details after 20 September. 
•  Each interclub team’s parents will be rostered on to run one Friday club night during Term 4 or Term 1.
