There’s a buzz around the squash courts at Khandallah Tennis and Squash Club — and it’s all thanks to our powerhouse Women’s C Grade team who are training their hearts out for the National Superchamps competition in Dunedin next month.
Coached by the awesome James Thompson, this inspiring group of girls and women — ranging in age from just 12 years old through to seasoned players — is showing what dedication really looks like. Some are training twice a day, juggling school, work, and life around early-morning sessions and after-hours court time.

But it’s not just squash they’re doing: they’re tackling hill sprints, stair runs (including the infamous Amritsar Street stairs), backwards hill climbs, and even hopping uphill — all to build strength, speed, and endurance. Their commitment is not only impressive, it's infectious — and it’s helping to raise the profile of squash in our wider community.
At KTSC, we believe squash is a sport for everyone — fast, social, challenging, and accessible rain or shine. From junior coaching to adult club nights and in-house social comps, we hope to see more people of all ages giving squash a go. Our thriving women’s and junior squash scene shows just how much this sport can empower, connect, and energise people!

This C Grade women’s team is leading by example — showing what’s possible when passion meets perseverance. They’re setting an incredible standard for aspiring players, while creating a culture of support and ambition that’s shaping the future of squash at KTSC and beyond.
We’re incredibly proud of everything they’re doing, and we can’t wait to cheer them on as they compete at nationals in Dunedin next month.
Good luck team — you’ve already made us proud!
